 Taken at AirVenture 2011, the annual gathering of EAA members in Oshkosh, WI, otherwise known as the Mecca of Aviation :-)
This is Bob Carlton's Super Salto jet-powered sailplane. The jet engine produces about 240lb of thrust. The jet is used to power the sailplane to altitude, and the aerobatic routine captured here is performed with the jet turned off.
