Some general comments...

This pylon plus a second one nearby remain from a transmitting station built early in the last century. It was a radio station which also had an important role in ship-to-shore radio. The building has recently been restored as a museum. Chatham Marconi maritime museum

Both pylons are currently topped with large, occupied, osprey nests. I had hoped this would show but it doesn't. It was more obvious in shots of the other pylon which is not as tall, but those images just weren't as interesting in other ways.

I was initially trying to shoot a completely symmetrical image (within the limits of non square image dimensions), but much of each pylon's footprint was covered by large poison ivy bushes, to which I am highly sensitive. It was interesting to note how once I let go of that goal I started to really appreciate the appeal of non-centered, asymmetrical images. The mind is amazing isn't it! Just as well, as extending my arm over the poison ivy and pointing the camera upwards did not provide much control over what I was shooting!

What a great kaleidoscope! Or a kaleidoscopic spier web. Or just a great picture that is not only texture based.
