I like the out-of-the-box thinking here. Having the legs in focus and the body not gives the perception that the spider's a good distance away. It also plays on the relative concept of "from a distance," since the photo seems to be from the prey's point of view.

This doesn't seem far away, but DMNC aside, the subject is not in focus. Well, two of its legs are, but I'm not feeling it's enough to save this image.

I like your image, and I understand your intention, but I think this is beyond OOB. No way can a macro fit the challenge when the directions specifically say "... a photograph of something far away."
