Random shot of a boy up a tree, thought it would make a great pic for the sepia challenge, changed it from a previous pic, hope it's worth it. I like this because climbing is a lost art these days, our children should be more involved in these sorts of activities outside, he reminded me of my boy who likes to climb the tree in our yard, Luke just did'nt happen to be with me at the time.

Thanks to adigitalromance, who explained how the image was dark up top, it was intentional, but I guess a lot of people did'nt like it.
At 64 votes had 5.85, since then it's been on a steady decline, OH average, I hate average scores.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments afterwards, esp timfythetoo

Very well done, I always look for the emotional connection/mood, enjoyed this!

This shot should have placed much higher. Reminds me of my summer days of my youth climbing trees and quietly looking down on my world without a care in the world. Very nice shot.

I don't vote much anymore. I usually just look through the thumbs and see if anything catches my eye. If it does I might fave it, but I rarely leave comments anymore. Even in the threads I just troll. I faved you as photographer the other day because of your interaction in the comment discussion thread. I thought you handled yourself well and appreciated your concern. Then late last night - literally 15 minutes before rollover I decided to vote in the sepia challenge. Very glad I did. This image here had not caught my eye from thumbnail. It scored an easy 10 from me (and 10s arent usually easy from me). If this were my image of my boy I would have it framed huge on canvas and hanging in my living room because even though this is not literally a picture of my it certainly is a picture of my boy. There are some edit tweaks that I may have done personally to make it pop some more or be more like my own work, but really that isn't the point of this image or even the point of my vote. You captured a moment that I love that I can connect with. It brought a smile to my face and had me hang for a while last night as it does rightn ow typing along (I scroll up every so often to take another peek). And then to see that it was you that I faved as photographer who captured this image affirmed my decision to fave you as a photog (and looking through your portfolio gave me other reasons as well).

In shorter words - Lovely work. Thank you for sharing. ;)

Ha, I was right! It is yours. I got the location wrong though - my guess was Hyde Park. I see that I wasn't the only person to have picked you as the photographer. That's a sure sign that you're developing a recognisable style of your own, which is cool.

Oh, Anita, this should have finished higher than it did! It is lovely.

Nice carefree capture of a moment. The image seems a little darker on the top than the bottom, and that kinda causes my eye to wander down as opposed to going to the "boy and his tree." I realize that this may be an intentional edit.
