I stood on that corner for what seemed like ages waiting for something to happen, thought maybe somebody would pass through the band of light on a bike or something. The cat and the pigeon both appeared suddenly out of nowhere, i didn't know what was happening at first, i just clicked out of instinct and then immediately tried to save the bird but it was to late, the cat had grabbed it and jumped into a broken window on the adjacent wall. I have a shot of the cat taunting me with the dead bird in the window but i still feel guilty about not saving it so i won't post that.

Thanks for the comments and the favorites, they are deeply appreciated.

another well deserved win, although it's too bad about the bird. Fantastic story! Congratulations!

This time a European podium :D

There's something in your pictures that reminds me of ancient places, old traditions even when there are no people in them. A kind of warmth and a taste of European villages that are no so different in France and Italy.

I imagine the cat was also hidden in the shadows for a long time, waiting for the pigeon to come near enough... That's what my cats often do, anyway. Then he probably jumped on the bird like a mad, but he didn't know there was another hunter! A photo hunter :-)
Congratulations on your patience, and of course, on your ribbon!

Your Atget type pictures, and I say it with delight, pride and deep appreciation, are winning all hearts. Vive la France!
I imagine you stalking but having at your side a nice baguette au jambon et un demi de Malbec rose dans un petit panier couvert d'une serviette aux carreaux!

Not shabby at all for a shot you had some doubts about! You certainly know how to work these old villages and extract their charm.

Awww, so sad for the pigeon. But I like cats, too, and he was just doing what cats do. Amazing catch. And SO SO glad to see your beautiful street work, and to see it do so well at DPC. Warms my heart. Thanks so much for sharing these glimpses!
