Took two mornings to get this shot, the first day i went down i lost the lot after 15 minutes when a big wave came through and washed everything away, including about $15 of loose change in the chest!!
I went down the next and got a few images which while not being what i saw in my head, produced an ok result. The hardest part was lighting the bottle in an acceptable way with the sun beaming in behind and getting some detail on the waves.
Process included contrast, a little saturation, lots of sharpening, and some doging burning and healing on flash artifacts and big bits of sand.

thanks for the comments guys, yes yes, the box is underexposed ;) i took many shots and this was the one with the best light on the subject which i thought was kinda the point of the challenge. i did have "jewels" and a pearl necklace which i lost in a big wave the day earlier! i had other shots with coins in the box, but the bottle had light reflections or other flaws which i felt excluded the pictures.

resonably happy i guess with my first entry, cheers..

With this title- I'm really wanting to see some sparkly, shiny objects in this image. With out the title, I'm not sure I would have distinguished a treasure box from this image. I like the proportions of your subjects in this shot and the colors are appealing. In fact, I'm surprised at how well the white bottle shows up here! I also like the texture of the sand contrasted with the smoothness of the bottle.

Without the title, it's pretty tough to see that this is a treasure box. I think it would have been a much better shot if there were gold coins and jewelry spilling out of the box rather than seaweed.

I wish the "treasure" part of this image wasn't as dark as it is. The colors of the sunset are a lovely golden color though.

I'm not sure the liquid is lit well enough to provide an explanation. On second thought, I'm not sure if it was well lit enough it would make sense. I like the image as long as I do not try to figure out what it "means."

good idea but maybe the treasure chest should be immediately recognisable.

Nice idea, nice light and colour but the big brown blob is taking up way too much space in the photo. I assume it's a treasure chest but there's not much detail in the dark parts of your photo so it's hard to tell.

Love the pic. Nice warm tones - just like the drink.

without the title I wouldn't have guessed that's a treasure chest. good idea, lighting could be much enhanced. Is that spilt BP oil in the foreground?
