 Ok, this was taken in June in my back yard in Australia. It’s not a native (a Japanese Maple I think) that turns colour and loose it’s leaves in mid winter here. I’m hoping there won’t be many shots like this and may stand out a bit from the rest. I’ve purposely softened the feel and darkened the green background to emphasise the red colour that has resulted in the tips appearing blown. This will probably hurt my score but I like the effect.

It’s hard to predict how this may be received but I’m guessing it won’t offend many (unless they consider all photos have to be sharp and very detailed) but it probably won’t hold one’s attention for more than a second or two so a mid 5 is expected.

Only a few hours till rollover and I'm hoping to hold a 6 which is much better than I had hoped. (This is the first time I've added a self comment while an image is still in voting so I'm experimenting to see the results)

Nice colors! Although I have never really liked these types of photos where there is a lot going on... This one is not as overwhelming as most. Good job.

Lovely color. I like that it isn't tack sharp, but that does take away from the detail in the leaves a little. But that red color really pops!

This is a great shot, I really love how the leaves fill up the frame. My only complaint is the soft focus, I would love to see this nice and crisp.
