CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

Compositionally, this shot is okay. The leaf sits on a "strong" point on the right side, and the "bubbles" and background balance it nicely. Also, the way the stem part of the leaf leads out of the frame is a strong element.
Technically, it is okay. The colors are good -- I like the contrast of the red and green on the warm colors of the background. The focus does seem to be a bit off -- whether from being out of focus from the camera, or from "processing noise" I can't tell. The different textures in the shot are also good.
Overall, it is an okay shot, but it really doesn't connect with most viewers (I am presuming, based on your score) on a level other than an entry in a contest about honey. Even there, the viewer is left to assume that is honey, though I admit when I first looked at the image, I though it was a leaf on some kind of muddy/brackish water, and only figured out it was honey after seeing what challenge it was in.
I think the score would have been better if the focus was a bit sharper, and if the shot had a bit more context to it -- so that more people could relate to it.
