Thank you...regarding the bright whites...this was taken about 30 minutes after sunrise. The sun was finally over some distant hills and some nearby buildings so the white wash was glowing. It was just a matter of waiting for the sun to get a bit higher. This particular effect lasted about 15 minutes or so.

Hey, I just saw this on another site!!!! It's in voting and I had given it the highest vote. I love it!!!! It better be accepted!! It's a great photo! How do you get such rich blacks and whites? Mine always seem murky.

Wonderful how you have the gulls at the very top to bring us along for the ride. That dark smooth sand with the foam white wave delights the eye and mind.
