I love minimalist landscapes and was really looking forward to shooting for the minimal landscape challenge, until I noticed I will not have time due to work commitments and travelling. So, I decided to use one minimalist waterscape that I took during May into the FS. I had some other things but they were street type shots and figured on the back of the HCB people maybe tired of that type of image.

I fully expect this to get a very low to mediocre score, but I'm OK by that because I like it and I'm just entering as I promised myself that I would enter at least the FS this year if nothing else.

A title alludes me at the minute. Perhaps something will come before morning :)

calm, minimalist, love the thinest strip of horizon land; great warmth to the blue.

Don't get yourself down by this score. It's unreal.
The texture and the twilight glow really lures me into the shot. Any fan of sailing or the ocean can relate to the feel this shot gives off.

I love this in color, but probably would enjoy it as much in b/w.
I'm surprised to see it way down here.

Well... it definitely had appeal for a whole bunch of people, which is comforting. It always galls me that you can have so many 5's and then end up in the 4's. The people who gave you a 1,2,3, and 4 are clearly idiots. Seriously.

Love the commenters' score!! Me, I like this image. It is incredibly zen, leads the eye, is technically excellent. And what Deb said - I get calm just looking at it.

And a marvelous minimal landscape it is, too. The texture on the water is nearly hypnotic.

Love the blue, well presented.

Amazing. The water gives way easily to the sky -- only a single inky horizontal brushstroke suggest the distance between the two. A top pick from me.
