What a challenge! The nerve to try to do something "a la maniere de" Bresson...
Be there, absorb, point, shoot, desaturate, save for the web ....
There are more than 30 years since I have in my house in one room or another HCB's picture with the boy holding the two bottles of wine.
I was sure I would take a street shot ... but lack of time ... flu ...I was lucky to go and take some pics the very afternoon of the first day.
I look forward to seeing all pictures and the outtakes.

Yep great homage to his Giacometti shots, very nice.

So glad I've given this a 10... but there should have been more. Giacometti with a cell phone in a non-smoking gallery, ah, modern times. Fantastic.

the "real" blends unharmoniously but seamlessly with the "art"

I'm hanging this in my personal Bresson gallery

I love this one. Such a great mixture of motion and stasis, and echoing of forms!

The blurred passerby creates the interest for me here. Almost as though the statue is pondering the potential for movement, as unlikely as that may be, and that is echoed by the painting beyond. The gent on the right has no part in any of that, but his being there is not a disturbance.

Giacometti and Cartier-Bresson, as artist friends, were both seeking a way out of surrealism. I think this photo kind of represents the thinking during that evolving process. Even the circle by Matisse in the background adds to the image... not so much the blurry spectators but they don't detract.
I'm liking this one very much... not so much as a representational presentation of HCB but artistically biographical. I hope I'm not way off base as to what you were thinking.

Very thoughtful expression you have captured, the whole images works really well for me, it would be good if we looked at every detail in life with such intensity and curiosity then perhaps everything would be art and everywhere a gallery.
