This looks like a very good fountain shot--really smooth water! But it's too small to see much here. The crop seems too extreme--the sides of the fountain are important here, and the crop is otherwise too tight. all around. Perhaps you were trying for a macro effect, but a macro effect isn't the same as a tightly cropped photo--you need to be closeup or show fine details of the image that you would only see if you were closeup.

nice shot of a fountain but cant see where it is macro or close up

An excellent capture but far too small and tightly cropped.

Two problems- the image is too small to appreciate, and you're too far away to make this a decent close-up.

While this looks pretty - nice motion and light - you get a 1 for the challenge (which probably will come as no surprise to you! : )

like the idea but with the image being so small it's very difficult to see the details. Would love to see this image at a bigger size.

Lovely photo, but needs to be bigger. This is not a macro though in any sense of the word.

Why did you enter this shot into a Macro contest? This shot is, in my opinion, the farthest thing from a Macro shot.

Outside of far from meeting the challenge, the shot appears to have nice focus, it is an intereting capture. The washing out of the water near the bottom of the fountain is a nice touch. This is a good night shot.

Without this being close to the challenge at hand, I am unable to mark this very high.

I wish your photo was larger... and I'm not sure how this is macro, but it looks like a really lovely photo. for that, you're getting a good score from me! (if you can upload a larger version after the challenge, i'd love to see it!!)

A lovely abstraction of a fountain. I wish the picture were larger. However I cannot see how thise fits a Macro challenge.

not really a macro shot, is it?

Challenge: Macro IV

Please help me understand how this fits the challenge.

Nice capture. Wish is was bigger.

much to small would have made a good one if it ware bigger
08/03/2004 01:11:23 PM
This is a nice picture, but it's not a macro. It doesn't meet the challenge.

This is a really pretty photo. Don't forget to take advantage of the whole 640 pixel width on your submissions. Unfortunately, despite the beautiful rendering of this image, it doesn't look like a macro shot to me.
08/03/2004 07:37:04 AM
you need to make your images at least 640 pixels on their longest side. otherwise, it's too hard to see enough of the image to judge it fairly.
08/03/2004 02:58:15 AM
wrong challenge ?
08/03/2004 12:24:49 AM
Make sure you read the challenge description before entering a photo, this is not a macro.
08/03/2004 12:07:09 AM
GREAT shot! PLEASE make your next entries larger! 8
08/02/2004 11:13:53 PM
This looks like a really good picture, but it's too small to see any detail. I think you'd score a lot higher fif you used all 640 pixels.
08/02/2004 04:55:00 PM
The small size will damage the scores on this worthy image. The size is 180x266. Try for an image size where the shortest side is no smaller than 400 if your camera supports it.

Nice shot, not a macrom in my opinion

This looks like a great picture, but I don't see how it fits the challenge. I'd love to score it higher, but in a different challenge.
