My friend the Scottish Highland. These gentle animals live down the street from us, and considering the sharp pointy horns and stern looks, these guys are actually pretty calm.

Adjustments to exposure, crop in LR2. Silver Efex Pro 2 using 'forest floor' preset from Bear_Music with some adjustments to remove the border, adjusting the curves and brightening the whites. Dodge and burn on face and background. OnOne Phototools 2.5 to add soft black. Minor clone to remove flies around cow. Resize, Adamus sharpen, save for web.

Awesome texture in the hair due to the great toning.

Congrats for a top 10 placement! Love the sharpness of the animal contrasted against the soft background and the B&W edit. Very cool.

Very nice...I don't see a single thing I can offer a fix for ! There are other animals in this challenge, but this one is really good. I'm upping this from a 6 to 8 and may go to 10 after I finish voting.

I suspect bassbone hand here. Still beautiful, but tamer than the B&W Challenge one. And contrary to all stated rules, I like the symmetry and central placement.
