...from Critique Club...

Hi Alan

FIRST IMPRESSION:
Freaky!! I like it!

COMPOSITION:
Perhaps the weakest point of the photo. There seems to be too much stuff in the frame distracting from the main subject..'da chair' (still freakin' me out). The shot also doesn't seem to be leveled. The lamp reflection is the biggest distraction though. :(

TECHNICAL:
Good. I don't mind the 'brightness' of the shot as it sure sets the 'freaky' mood. Focus is good...just by looking at the floor. But that lamp, Alan...it's gotta go. :|

ARTISTIC:
Awesome. It sure is an original shot. The tones you used and the harsh lighting make this a creative shot, IMO....and that chair is still freakin me out..I swear, it's moving on the screen. :)

OVERALL:
Very cool idea which could be improved by 'removing' alot of the useless elements...IMO. :))

Best of luck in the future. Don't hesitate to PM me if you have any questions about this critique.

Cheers...zadore.

The picture would work better without the mirror on the left (including the reflected lamp) and the dresser/blanket on the right. Both of these elements distract. The light source also creates a flaring which I find distracting.

I would have darkened this up quite a bit to accentuate the "old rocking chair" mood.

Ok shot.

Good idea, but the light bulb in the mirror draws my eye as does the cardigan draped on the cabinet. Nice touch with the Ted overseeing the rocking chair, but a little to busy overall.

Not crazy for the compositon.............but love the idea, the subject, the light, the color, the action, the focus and dof. :) OKAY I think I like this. Well done. Bravo.

This is a cool shot. But I think it would have been better to remove the light out of view. I think it proves for a distraction since the eye naturally moves to the brightest part of the picture first. The intresting thing here is that the rocking chair is not in the refection of the Mirror. This is a nice eshot. This is a nice shot Keep up the good work.

Maybe a little too bright. I like hte use of the yellow tone instead of full color or black and white, it looks good in this shot.

The lighting is a little harsh.

Excellent image - I really like the warm tones in this shot. It also fits the challenge perfectly.
