 Crop, some saturation followed by sharpening in LAB (Lightness channel) then dodge some shadow on the top right of the branch.

Very cute subject. I love these little guys. The light areas are a bit bleached and we're too far away still, but it's good. I'd have cropped away the lower part of the shot with the brown area.

I don't know what a hoverfly is, but I do know this is beautifully photographed. Focus is extraordinary. Colors pop. Detail is terrific. DOF work. Among my top picks.
