nice conversion to b/w and good subject - but the crop seems wrong (square wasn't Weston's thing) and the shallow DOF does match his style |

Beautifully luminous. Tomatoes hold up so nicely in black and white. |

The tomatoes don't seem to be in focus and there's too much depth apparent overall. Form isn't the star and to me isn't even very interesting in this shot. I think this is an interesting shot, but it doesn't resonate Weston to me. |

Need more DOF. Weston never used an open aperture on his close up shots. |

I know tomatoes always seem to look out of focus is photographs due to their strange skin texture, but I think yours is actually OOF since the leaves aren't as sharp as the stem. Weston usually used small apertures and long exposures to get a deep depth of field. The texture in the stem is great though. |
