 My friend Jason and I couldn't resist taking a day off to relax in Nagasaki and take photos two days after disaster struck Japan. I had to separate myself from the TV, if just for a day. I feel like this photo is a powerful reminder of just how lucky we are to be surrounded by peaceful waters in Nagasaki. We can enjoy this beauty while thousands of people have lost loved ones and are without food and heat in the mountains.

I did get a scare when a wave came in and soaked my shoes, but it was just because a boat went by...
