Interesting old building and story to go with it. This is just me, but I'd like to see it from further back. More space around it would give a better sense of isolation, IMNSHO. Nice work and thanks for sharing.

I bet this would look awesome in b/w as well. You could get some really nice contrast out of it.

Nice old church. Too bad it has to go. I agree with Adz that a B&W version of this would be nice, since the light is rather flat.

A Superfund site is one which is so environmentally contaminated that the US government says it is unsafe to live on. In this case, it is lead contamination from the lead and zinc mining enterprise (which was used to form most of the bullets used in world Wars I and II). The government comes in, buys up the property, and relocates the peaople who lived there. Picher at one time had a population of more than 10,000. Now, only four families remain who have refused government buyouts.

Really engaging shot. I hope they never tear that old church down. I love to look at old buildings decaying away from the forces of nature. I'm intrigued by the story you hint at. What is a Superfund site?
