Not the best processing job... I realize that. I was actually in the middle of it at rollover so this got posted kind of in error.
This is my youngest daughter with whom I was vacationing over the course of the challenge and returned home the night the picture was due. I'm still glad I posted it because it reminds me of how hard we tried to get a good portrait.
Weighty is a good word, in every respect. Thank you for the comments and votes. At some point I will try and make this better because I know it can be.

Very outstanding! Unfortunately the nit pickers probably didn't like the flat lighting. Still a great portrait.

I really think this is a fantastic capture. The emotion is raw. The eyes say so much. She is beautiful!

I really like the tones and the eyes are so hypnotic. Impossible to turn away.

I liked this enormously. The gravitas of the Virginia Woolf portraits.

I like the idea, but your photoshop work on the face was selective and sloppy. I would have rather seen all the imperfections versus your patch tool/healing brush fixes. The eyes are great.

I like the hazy/murky processing, probably getting dinged for being "unlibrodo"like. 7

Frank and believable, done with restraint and sensitivity (must be a lesson there!) Thank you. 7.
