I like the textures a lot but what's "the thing"? Neither scary, nor intriguing, as I would have hoped. Ye, it's just a "thing". Moreover, cannot tell if it's in an urban environment, could be anywhere. But a 6 for me for the beauty of the sandy wall.

Very intriguing Thing. Kind of like the composition better with the dark bottom cropped out, but it does make clear that the Thing is on a manmade surface.
