 Not sure that this is truly impressionistic, but it fits the challenge well enough for my loose interpretation!

The effect is all in the post-processing. Reduced clarity to zero in LR, Topaz simplify, curves and saturation adjustment, watercolour filter reduced to 10%.

the end result makes the landscape look much warmer and calmer than it really was. we were camping just above the beach, and the wind was blowing a gale - it was just as well our tent was a small 2 man hiking tent, as we would have lost it otherwise!
