Taken of the Tracy War Memorial. It was early in the morning with overcast skies. The wilting wreath caught my eye and I had to get it as I thought it was appropriate to the memorial.

The wreath adds a nice touch.

This photo serves its purpose well. The composition is formal, but dynamic enough to imply some emotion. I'm sure a lot of people are commenting on the bottom of the wreath being cut off. I really do like the way you framed this, though... a little bit more on the bottom wouldn't have hurt, but I like the strong shapes. The reflections on the memorial are nice. It's a good photo, even if I'm a bit disconnected from it emotionally since I'm not an American (although my grandfather fought in Korea).

GREAT PHOTO

Very well taken photo. Good emotion. Too bad it's cloudy (definately not YOUR fault!). I'm guessing, but this must be a "local" monument, it might have helped to know that by including a reference to it (just a thought). 7 Swash

Moving subject, but the compostion appears a little cluttered, and dows not draw the eye like I would prefer.

Very well composed.

I really like the relection of the trees in the memorial and the trees that can be seen in the background. The wreath doesn't really add much here (although I don't suppose you could have moved it!) but I wish that the bottom part of the flowers was not cut off. = 7

The contrast between the grey sky, black stone, and the colours of the wreath works really well, and the composition is good too.

very nice subject. You have nicely executed the subject its self, however the background is aweful. The sky is white out, and the tree is muted by lighting conditions as well. I find that a bit distracting. Otherwise, focus and clarity on the subject are good, and your angle and framing/cropping are also nice. I kind of wish we could see the rest of the names, but the photo wouldn't be the same without the wreath. good luck in the challenge.

I really like the shot but the faded out tree in the lower left and to a lesser degree the reflection in the memorial of trees is a big distraction to me. DPz

I'm a sucker for patriotism. This grabs your attention and speaks tons of emotion. Great photo and well done. This will be in my favorites for sure.

I think the wreath takes away from the memorial since it covers the names... if the wreath is to stay, the crop should include all of the wreath... but I really like the idea

Not knowing what is on the left side of this image, I wonder if you were to crop so the whole right and upper right is the monument and have the trees in the lower left, if that would make a stronger composition. Good clarity and colors.

Very sharp and well exposed image, making the gist of it standout. However, the cropping is a bit off for my taste; I would have kept the whole flower rangement in.

I'm not sure I care for the angle. The tree on the bottom right is distracting, it might have looked better if the tree were on the right side, with less showing on the left, but I'm not sure. If the tree wasn't in this picture at all it'd be wonderful. I do like the reflection of the tree on the stone though.

i would like to see more of the monument depending on what is in the background. it's a good picture that moves me but needs some compositional element that wows me. maybe a different camera angle that showed more of the names and the wreath. it's amost cluttered with the wreath on top of the names. it would have more impact if the wreath wasn't there at this camera angle.

Your colors are nice, your focus is good, but the composition is not good. The bottom is cut off the area to the right is distracting. The idea is wonderful. Still I would think this was hard to shoot.....I admire your attempt.
