 Pine cone with eyes drawn on each element with a permanent marker. Lit from below with a single spot and fill in flash. Used f32 to get maximum depth of field on this, because theres going to be plenty of shallow dof images in this challenge, and I wanted something different.

PS work: unsharp mask, clone out a couple of light spots which distracted the eye, burn and dodge, apply heavy sepia filter, sharpen, sharpen more, contrast and brightness

Nicely observed - cute! I'd have cropped off the bottom third to retain the illusion a little more and would have enabled you to enlarge the view. Good light and DOF.

Good subject well lighted and captured. It's too bad the competition is so tough in the challenge. I fear this won't do as well as it deserves in the voting. With your obvious mastery of camera and comp, I expect to see a lot of good images from you.
