My biggest concern with this was that people would think the shoe wasn't lonely. But just because you're with someone, doesn't mean that's where you want to be. Here's a shoe that's tromped over mountains, through creeks and rivers, and has seen the world.

Somehow, I don't think this is how it imagined how it was going to spend the end of its days.

Sometimes there's loneliness in a crowd.

Heh heh heh heh.
What's great about this is there's a lot going on. The bird is incidental, sorta, and adds to the shot as an afterthought (after looking at it for a while). The focus of my eye is mostly on the boot which keeps the shot very much about the boot.

What a great idea, though. *pats back* :P

Love it, love the title too, great B&W with good contrast, very few in this challenge created good contrast, a lot of them were washed out, but this one is great, love the detail and textures in the leaves, and the fact that the bird is there is a plus - well done!
