 Cyclists tendering their tickets before boarding the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff. We were already on the ferry.

This reminds me of the "I love Lucy" episode where they are bicycle touring Europe and Lucy gets stuck at the French border with her passport having been sent ahead in her luggage.
