Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, CO. This exceptional and talented writer/artist will compose an original poem on his classic Royal typewriter, upon request. A unique street performance. A great poem created. He uses carbon paper to make a copy for himself.

Mostly, I shot b&w images for this challenge. None of them turned out to be good enough. The b&w images needed postprocessing, which was not permitted. As insurance, I shot a handful of color images, this entry being one of them. I attempted a simple desat of this, but the color version had much more impact.

Also, I captured my share of dreary, depressed, down-and-out people images. Plenty of dark mood, sympathy-type images. I do care, but I didn't see any interesting, compelling and unique scenes in the "dark" category.

Coongrats on doing so well in this challenge Richard. I know we both were a bit out of our comfort zone with this. I was up at Pearl St on Sat afternoon, I think you may have been there either Friday or Sat morning. This same poem writer was there on Sat PM too. I took about 700 shots that day. As I passed him, he smiled at me and I'm thinking he knew what I was up to. I think it's great he wrote a poem for you!

Not your usual! I'm surprised to find this one is yours. It was a 10 for me. Great street photography and an out of the ordinary feel-good element to it.

Nice image. Personally i feel the bokeh is way too much for such a challenge as it takes that street feel off. i like the colors and the crispness in this

I really enjoy that you can see from the look on his face how much he enjoys what he does.

After looking through all of the images this one really stands out to me. I love the emotion you were able to capture in this image. One of the top contenders for sure.
