 After reading this in the news I took a ride to Allentown to check it out. The whole block was cordoned off because of the blast. Many buildings had windows blown out besides the obvious damage to the main building in this picture. Sadly 5 lives were lost in the explosion.
I parked my car in a strip mall and grabbed my camera. There were police or fire police at each road leading into the blast area. I had my camera visible as I walked past one of the fire police through a small break in the tape which was blocking the road. I walked by him like I belonged there and he didn’t say a word. Although I heard him stop the next person behind me, I didn’t look back. I took a bunch of pictures of the area. When I was leaving - passing the “Mobile Command Center” - the fire police dude was asking if he could leave the press or media past the barrier. The guy from the command center said “No”.
I didn’t look over; I just kept walking out, cut back through the tape and went to my car. Nobody said a word to me!

I think this could have been a great shot, considering the house next to the snow and ice, but I think more care and thought should have been put into the composition.

Again, more of a photojournalism shot. And again, having a hell of a time trying to score this, as it's not really what I call a street shot, but does loosely fit the description, and is an important event... Hmmmmm...
