Sliver moon photograph as the background, a simple trapezoid cut from black construction paper creates the iconic monolith, backlit using a white LED penlight, and a little light sidelighting using a UV LED flashlight.

Very Cool.. My hubs fav movie so I've only seen it about 100 times and before I read your Title thats the first thing that hit my mind. Great job with the interpertation and the photo!
