 First challenge entry with my new Powershot G11. Stopped at a motorcycle shop on the way home from work and took some pics of the bikes lined up outside. There were some more unique bikes there, such as a Huffy cruiser bicycle with an engine on it, and a really nice touring bike with a metallic orange paint job. That paint job was a tough edit. Either it looked flat or overprocessed.


This one seemed to have the best combination if interest and wow factor. Hoping my use of the other wheel to frame the scene will be something to help this stand out. Not expecting but a mid-pack finish from this one. There are sure to be lots of other entries with tons of wow factor.

Anticipated critiques:
-Slight blotchiness in the sky at the top, where I cloned out some stray tree limbs.
-Someone might suggest the foreground framing would work better if it was more in focus.

Post-challenge notes:
Finished about where I had anticipated on placement, but a bit lower on average score than what I thought it would be worth.

I really don't understand the placement on this one. I thought it was an excellent shot!

Wonderfully framed. The texture of the asphalt vs. the grooved striations in the disc brakes vs. the smooth brushed rim is quite a nice combo. A glint of sun off the forks for good measure as well. Nicely spotted and very well executed.
