 During image capture, I intentionally cranked up the ISO, hoping to get a nice grain effect. I was able to emphasize it during post-processing with excessive sharpening and then applying a blur.

I don't think this will do well in voting. It's not really a terribly interesting subject, but I had given thought about choosing a subject that was symmetrical, but broke its symmetry in some way. I also experimented with the post-processing a bit more than I usually do, in order to add some texture to the image, which I find pleasing when looking at the images by others here on DPC. It's also an interesting way to hide imperfections in the subject.

The mystery of the extinguished light. Cracked actor? Broken clown? A still from a lost Italian film? A lovely sense of dark and fuzziness.

Is this a light? Oh, I see, one is burned out but you're saying there's still enough light? I don't understand why it's so grainy. The composition is not very interesting for me either.

i dont really understand what is meant by balance, so i have just been looking at this as a free study, that being said, this works well as an abstract, the noise is a bit excessive for my taste
