Wrapped some Christmas lights around a cone of clear Mylar sheeting, then had [user]Isaac[/user] drop them while shooting with a long enough exposure to create a blur.

-Tripod, Manual mode
-RGB Curve
-Hue/Sat adjustment
-Crop
-Resize
-Use burn tool to darken rwo distracting spots at "ground level"
-USM at 66%/0.6 dia/TH = 5 (applied twice)
-SaveAs JPEG at quality 10/10 = 176KB

Ha, I thought this was camera shake. OOPS. The black 'sky' makes this look very real.

you put a lot of work into this! thanks to your cone you achieved the iconic fireworks shape, but with a different direction... which I believe you allude to in your title.
