Long exposure with the girls and presents painted with a flashlight. Shot originally in RAW. Converted in LR3. Added slight vignette. Transferred to CS5 Converted to LAB color mode to adjust A and B channels to bump color a bit (dropped opacity to 30%). Converted back to RGB for High Pass Sharpening. No spot editing or selections made. Adjusted size for web posting.

I attempted this shot last year and wasn't happy with the outcome. So, I waited 365 days for another chance. I'm pleased it seems to be doing well so far.

Great colors and clarity to this shot. Did you use a star/cross filter to get those bursts on the lights?

Quite lovely. My only not would be to have it be darker in the foreground so the tree could "glow" more and it would look more like night.
