Not entirely (un)successful. I tried shooting this 4 times over 3 days with and without a tripod. I thought the reflections from the street and the second, smaller reflection of me against the interior of the church interesting. Love how the one hanging light in the church landed one of the windows across the street. Some things you just can't plan. Later.

*************************************
Post challenge: Yeah! Thanks for the all the encouraging comments!

**************************************
Stood outside the outer glass doors of the church where I work. A second set of glass doors is at the other side of the vestibule. I put the lights on in the church. My first reflection is on the outer glass doors which also reflects the other side of the street. The second set of glass doors reflects me standing outside the first set of glass doors. The inside of the church came through througout the image.

Shot with camera on tripod and cable release.

The Spirit of Aggieland also refers to the "spirit can ne'er be told." Many people describe Texas A&M University as having a unique school spirit that "From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. And from the inside looking out, you can't explain it." It has perhaps best been stated by a former Vice Student Body President of the University of Texas at Austin when discussing the loss of life in the 1999 Texas A&M Bonfire collapse.

I like this effect here, especially when I can't immediately tell how you did it. Black and white is definitely an enhancement; I might've lost you otherwise. Well done.

Lots of complexities which makes it very intresting. Glad you went with BW on this one. Without seeing how it looked in the original, some things may be distracting in color. I like the double reflections.
12/22/2010 01:18:23 AM
Very cool use of the reflections. I actually had to look to find the camera in your hands.
