if you want to get a shot like this, find a place with still water and seagulls. throw crackers on the water and shoot away. the higher the shutter speed, the better.

I think the shape of the seagull and his shadow is phenomenal. I would crop out the splash behind him and let him be off center.

Cool shot! Rotate the image to get the water rings level and use Neat Image to polish it off. Looks like you've got some sensor dust spots- there's a big one to the right of the gull's head and another towards the top right corner.
