post-challenge:

Wow! This did better than expected and also earned me my first (logo'd) posthumous honor. I am quite pleased! Thanks to all for the great comments and thanks to posthumous for his poetic appreciation. You have a way with words, sir, that offers wonderful new views and insights into the images you comment on.

This was one of those shots, that gave me the feeling that I caught something special when I hit the shutter release. Learning from previous entries, I cropped in a little closer, even though I liked the original composition alright. I think I made the right choice, as it makes the wag more prominent. I was a little concerned about the amount of sharpening I applied, but didn't see any glaring artifacts from it. I like what it does to bring out the detail of the dog's fur.

a dog is the engine of its own happiness, as proven by this experiment in stop-motion imaging. Note how certain things, in certain light, on certain dream-flush days, cannot be stopped.

Great image, really classic, but it feels too sharp for some reason.

No matter...

By far the best of the dog shots. Interesting choice cropping/framing the dog how you did, but I like it. Good shot.
