This is a male Northern Shoveler. These ducks are in the process of migrating south. They will stay here as long as our ponds and lakes don't freeze over. They will move further south as the Winter progresses.
This guy doesn't have the best plumage on his head yet. It will be a bright green almost like a Mallard (just a little darker but the whole head will be green) as it gets it's full breeding plumage.
I was about 50 yards from this duck when I took this image.
