Wow!!! I just logged on and saw that I received a comment from thread creator De Sousa and an actual posthumous blue ribbon from the man. Really makes my night! Thank-you to Paul ( ubique) for being supportive of a few of my recent images that were not received well by the general voters. I was shocked and delighted to be one of the people to receive the blue from posthumous himself. I was more than satisfied with simply receiving a nice comment from Don(who made me check that comment helpful box a hundred times this week). I enjoyed reading the thread for this challenge and going through all of the fantastic images. Many of my favorite works of art (music, poetry/writing, painting/sculpture and photography) are ones that I didn't initially care for. Some, I even hated. It takes a certain amount of time and effort for me to appreciate great works of art both technically and emotionally. Those that grow on me over time usually have the deepest and most profound meaning to me. Many times I will go back through entries from past contests and see photos that I gave a lower score than I would today. This was a fantastic contest that allows people to look at photos differently and think differently about photography and art. I hope we do it again soon.

Thanks to everyone for the nice comments and the favs. It was a great week.

Thank you for the very kind mention in your Photographer's Comments, Richard. I have been genuinely enthralled by some of your recent stuff. Inspired too. And I could not be more delighted to see your Posthumous Blue. I think it's especially great that you are doing this kind of work lately because, unlike me, you have something to lose! I never was much good so it doesn't matter to me if I crash & burn score-wise.

The idea behind the Posthumous Ribbon is to encourage you to break the rules, to find new and different ways to express yourself. To free your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come, to laugh at world and at life, not doing what others are expecting you to do, but just following and listening to what's in your heart. DPC it’s a wonderful learning place where everyone should be supported on their way to be a photographer. A special attention should be aimed to those working hard with different views and approaches to photography, those not aligned with the mainstream taste and receiving no recognition. It’s our responsibility to support these photographers creating diversity and expressing different visions. Being active at the Posthumous thread it’s the best way to do it. Being active at the Posthumous thread it’s the best way to protect your and the other’s freedom of being different. Thanks for taking the time to enter this challenge. Stay wild.

This makes me feel as though I'm struggling to wake up from a disturbing dream and failing, when I give up and accept it, it turns out to be peaceful. Very Clever.

This put a smile on my face. A tree haunting a house where it once stood. Makes me love and respect my home. Outstanding.

Horrifying. Really. (And dig those fractal patterns over the house.)

The blur is the energy that excites the detail like electricity to a neuron.

Beautiful capture. is the tree sentient? Looks like it could be. I love the combination of detail and blur of the tree and very nice ghost grass.

This has a negative mash-up look to it and it works well. Great contrast and tones.

Not sure what to make out of this. This type of style must include a reason for me to be like this. You may have some deep thoughts and reason behind the way you did it, but I'm having difficulties seeing it. 5. sorry...

Beautifully done. Great use of zoom to emphasize the ghostly nature of the transparent tree.
