Was on my way to a dentist appointment and noticed in my rear view mirror that there was some very strong sundogs. I wear polarizing sunglasses so these were very intense wearing my glasses but not so much without. I turned my car around as quickly as possible and snapped a few shots. These usually don't last long so I was very pleased to capture them since they had such great intensity. I used my 1DMK4, 17-40 lens with a 4 stop ND filter and polarizing filter to pick up the colors. The technical name for this is "Parhelion Phenomena". AKA Sundogs. I love this shot and I'm not sure I would edit it any other way even if it were advanced editing rules.

I do really enjoy this photo, it seems to be a big hole that you could almost travel time through. It doesn't come through as a crisp, clean, snappy shot. Hella potential, the colors are awesome, the clouds are nice, and it is quite enchanting. Maybe the blown out part is what throws it off for me.

Deep and mysterious!! The colors are almost like mother of pearl.

The silhouettes of the trees against the night sky are lovely, but the blown out moonlight section (and that diagonal 'whatever' right/center) takes away from the overall picture.
