This would definitely benefit from 2 separate exposures. Our eyes are so much more sensitive to light than a camera's sensor. That's why it's difficult to get the camera to capture an image like we see it. |

I agree this is a great photo, but it could be exceptional with the help of some HDR techniques. You can make multiple exposures of the same photo using RAW. I think one with the sky in the correct exposure and one with the foreground in the correct exposure, then merged together using layers would really look great on this photo. |

I agree with cory, I think this is a great candidate for HDR. Nice clouds and some beautiful fall colors in the foreground. A little brightening with HDR or Topaz would make this pop nicely. |

I really like the composition on this. It's like the trees in the foreground are huddling together waiting to face down the approaching storm. Cool. |
