Night shot? Too much noise. Also all the small branches areound are a little distracting.

I'm guessing this took a serious crop and/or a high ISO to capture more light, because as I'm sure you've heard, it's fairly grainy. (The more I look at it I'm guessing certainly crop, as it's universally not especially sharp). Otherwise it's a nice scene and well balanced. Colors could be a bit more vivid, although the light tones give it a painting look.

Not that you care, but what I would have done is applied a decent amount of Gaussian blur, which would have gotten rid of a lot of that grain while enhancing the early morning/dreamy aspect of the scene and the tones.

But I am not a photographer, I only play one on DPC.

Half the time all I see is a white tail disappearing into the distance. Not blown away by this but it is certainly typical to find a deer attempting to be invisible in the woods.
