 Seems like an appropriate subject for harsh light, especially with the brightness of the stone surrounding the gate on the outside and the dark shadows inside. This prison is abandoned; the image looking into what was an exercise yard, heavily walled and decorated with guard towers.

Had the 2x teleconverter on (was mostly shooting flora at the time).

PP - rotated, cropped, duotone, increased contrast, resized, sharpened, added border.

Great combination of light and scene. Very cool framing, and the high key black and white was a good choice.

Very harsh midday lighting indeed on the wall. But i think the challenge suggest that we not only show midday light, but how we overcame it as well. Compensating exposure for the very bright wall is one way to show that you were trying to beat the harsh midday sunlight, but that wasn't done here.

The lower left side of the margin was off by a few pixels.
