 I wanted to use the sun to my advantage and backlight her hair. I also think close-ups are best in this type of lighting. I used my flash to fill in the shadows on her face. And that was all there was to it. Minimal editing, just a little adjustment on the color and I cropped it in slightly closer.

Possible critiques:
bit of a soft focus (this is as good as my camera and lens gets, so I won't feel too bad about that one)
I suppose the lighting could be a tiny bit better on her face but I like it just fine.
