Cute idea. Desat really works with all the rubble and to give it an old west feel. The only thing I could see improving this is a shallower depth of field to zero the focus in on the boots. The pallet in the background is just barely out of focus, and should be more of a hint (in my opinion). Not voting, just commenting.

the subject is barely distinguishable from the background, you should try enhancing the contrast. otherwise a good idea!
