This bridge featured in World War II when it was captured by the Allies during Operation Market Garden.

Another bridge that featured in Operation Market Garden and famous from the movie "A Bridge Too Far" is about 35 kilometers away in the town of Arnhem. This bridge is now known as the John Frost Bridge.

Note:
In the movie "A bridge too far" the actual bridge in Arnhem was not used as it is now surrounded by modern architecture. Instead the Wilhelmina bridge in Deventer which looks very similar to the original bridge in Arnhem was used in the movie.

I agree with the last commenter. ; ) Nice shot, and really nice recap of some history. My only advice is that you guys need to stop naming your bridges after British military officers.
