A few white ibis visited the garden at the place where I was working this afternoon. Curlew is a local name for them. They were working on the grass, picking up bugs and any other little critters they could find.
Hand held, sunlight, Vivitar S 1-f3.5 70-200, no filter. Basic edit in iPhoto.

I like how they're in unison.

I love these birds. They (or a variety of them) stop by the pacific flyway in the winter with glossy black/metallic coats. Gorgeous critters.

A friend and I have a long-standing discussion on how to pronounce the name. I call them "EYE bus" and she calls them "IB bus."

This image is fun as you captured them gliding along in unison.

Cool capture. I really like the sheen in their feathers.

I love those beaks. And hey, anything that eats bugs is a friend of mine!
