"A lion rampant" is the heraldic term for the lion on the crest of Scotland which is on the back of the UK two pence piece. At the bottom of the frame is a ten pence piece which has 2 of the 3 English "lions passant gardant" visible on the back. When laid out, the new style UK coinage forms the shield from the Royal Coat Of Arms of the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" otherwise known in short as the UK. The shield in full is depicted on the back of the new £1 coin.

This is a nice shot as far as pictures of money go. The lighting does a great job of emphasizing the detail on the coins. This would do well as stock. I still can't help but wish that there was something more to add a little interest.

Good soft lighting used in this photo. I like the tight crop and the amount of detail shown as well.

nice photo although it seems to me to be a little bright, the lighting isn't harsh but maybe the exposure could be dropped just a tad for a more interesting photo
