Never thought this would happen to me.
Was in the Kruger national park (Not my favourite place at all) Managing my meory cards wrongly caused me to shoot over the originals and as I import photos into LR as DNG files it was a lost case.
Tried 2 seperate data recovery programs but not luck. Thanks to //www.dpchallenge.com/profile.php?USER_ID=117285[/user] who kindly assisted but that program also did not work.

Well, better keep track of my CR2 files! Is it really that an unbelieveable shot that someone would actually doubt it's originality? Maybe I should feel flattered, yet Im only mad at myself.

Thanks to those for the kind comments who liked it.

Brilliant use of thirds. Not just in the positioning of the birds but in the way the water's edge is used to used to draw the eye back down to the Heron (I think).
There is a wonderful flow in the shot as the eye constantly moves around the picture between the African Fish Eagle, it's reflection, the Heron and the water's edge.
The Heron looks perfectly in focus and the eagle looks a touch soft, but that could be because of the sun's light coming in from the right and shining on it's softer feathers on the back of it's legs.
I would perhaps have cloned out the little imperfections on the shore line to keep it as smooth and simple as it could be - after all the whole shot shouts (or whispers) calmness and quietness.
Lastly (but not your fault as all!) it would have been amazing to get the full ripples in the lower right and not just a portion of it.
