On 9/24, I was browsing the Posthumous IV thread and read a descriptioin given by Yo_Spiff for one of his challenge submissions:



I was immediately reminded of my own image taken about 6 weeks after his. I didn't make the "Nessie" connection on my own image until a friend browsing my web gallery mentioned it to me, and it stuck in my head. :)

On this image, I darkened it a little and reduced the dynamic range a bit (making the darker tones turn to black). I really liked the vibrant color this gave the water (which was previously rather dull) which I thought worked well with the silhouette of the duck. I actually desaturated it a little, since the added contrast boosted saturation quite a lot.

This was about 2 weeks after I first got my T2i and I had just started playing with Canon's Digital Photo Professional.

I think we now have enough Loch Ness Ducks to start a new cliche shot category. Wine glasses are just SOOOOO last year.
