Tricky though isn't it? Like you I like the colours in the other photo. I rather suspect if the title had been "The Runners" and the original had been B&W I would have gone "... colour?"

Its an impossible choice between mood or colour

For some reason, this gives more of a mood, or to me at least. I notice the lines of the railings on either side of the runners and the contrasts are terrific.
