 Lake O'Hara is a beautiful back country destination in Yoho National Park. You can either walk up the 14km fire road or if you are fortunate enough to have reserved 3 months prior to your trip, take the bus up. Our camera club is a member of the Alpine Club of Canada and as such we were able to put our group into the lottery for the Elizabeth Parker Hut where we stayed.

When we got there the area was foggy and the clouds, which previously were above the mountain tops, came down. As a result it was rare that we saw an entire mountain. This shot was perhaps the rarest treat of all: Blue Sky. We had already stopped to take pictures of the lake but everything was foggy and cloudy. We had continued walking up the trail and just happened to stop and look behind us when we saw this. I just stopped and it literally took my breath away.


So maybe one day Judi can visit us Crazy Canucks and see this stuff for herself :)

At a glance, the water is higher on the right side. I would have rotated it a bit to make the water flat.
